The Sundowners 4x4 Club meets the second Thursday of each month at the Oakwood Community Center, 3320 Laird Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI, at 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact Ken Menck.

APRIL 10, 2008 Meeting
Ken Menck called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. There were 17 members present.
OLD BUSINESS
Chad needs some updated pictures from our recent runs and he’s looking for some pictures from BBBS last year. He’s also working on adding the member list to our website plus the companies that donated items for the rodeo.
Please fill out your rig of the month form and either e-mail it with a picture of your rig to Chad oconnorc@wmol.com or get it to Marie.

NEW BUSINESS
The new address for the club is Sundowners 4x4 Club, P.O. Box 25, Oshtemo, MI 49077-0025.
Marie is working with GLFWDA to set up the Awareness Training.
The club will be checking vehicles at the rodeo to make sure that they have insurance on them. Plan ahead!
TRAILMASTER REPORT
March 15 th was the chili run and we had a great turnout. Members wheeled at the property and then went back to Wayne & Sandy’s to eat chili and relax around the bonfire.
March 29 th & 30 th Sundowner members joined up with the Two Trackers for the Destination Run from Cadillac to Traverse City. It was a great run on trails to Traverse City where everyone stayed in a hotel, had a nice dinner and met new faces.
UPCOMING EVENTS
April 19 th – Two Trackers Clean Up
10 th Annual Forest Clean Up, 5536 Holton Road (M120), Twin Lakes, The CarGo Gas Station Parking Lot. Registration is from 8-9 and lunch will be provided by the Two Trackers. The forest service is asking the news teams and politicians to attend this year so please help out! See enclosed information.
April 19 th – 25 th Moab Run
Please contact Dick Whitman if you are interested in attending this run.
April 27 th – Silver Lake
Greg Wischmeyer is going up for the day. Please contact him if you would like to tag along.
May 4 th – CPR & 1 st Aid Training
The training will be held at the Oakwood Neighborhood Association from 2-5 pm. Price is $37.00 per person and will give you a 2 year certification with American Heart Association. Please contact Marie Dunning ASAP if you are planning to attend.
May 17 th – Kids Hope USA Run
Chad O’Connor is setting up this run. I have enclosed the volunteer application that needs to be returned to Marie by May 10 th. This form will give the church any information that is on your record (arrests, driving citations, etc.) We will meet at Haven Reformed Church in Hamilton to pick up the kids and then run some trails. We have talked about meeting for breakfast before the event. More information to follow.
May 24 th – 26 th Turtle Ridge
Memorial Day weekend is the Turtle Ridge Rock Challenge on Drummond Island.
May 30 th- June 1 st Miffy Spring Fling
This will be at Marv & Sue Farley’s house in West Branch, MI. This is going to be more of a family orientated weekend with a smaller head count than the Pig Gig. More information to follow.
June 14 th – 4x4 Awareness Training
This a tentative date. More information to follow.
June 20 th -22 nd - Camping Weekend
Adam is planning a good ole camping weekend up north. More information to follow.
July 26 th – Sundowners Rodeo
The annual rodeo will be held at the lease property. A committee has been formed and is starting to work on donations for the event.
August 2008 – The Cliffs
The club is planning a trip to The Cliffs the 1 st weekend of August.
October 2-5 – Canada Run
This will be a joint run with The Swamp Stompers and Marv says new trails will be traveled. You should get your passport now for this run and remember that children need one as well. More information to follow.
